As director, Johanna Lewis provides leadership and oversight to the Engineering Program Management Office which helps manage multiple concurrent programs, projects, and resources across the Engineering division. She has over 25 years of experience as a senior aerospace design engineer and program manager. She has extensive experience in the management of large aerospace programs in the space and defense industries and is PMP certified.
Prior to joining Southern Research, Lewis supported the design and development of primary systems, as well as unique payloads, for the International Space Station and numerous Space Shuttle missions. She currently serves on the board of directors of Girls, Inc., a non-profit organization providing programs that encourage girls to take risks and master physical, intellectual, and emotional challenges.
Lewis received a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering (1988) and a master’s degree in engineering management (1994) from the University of Alabama, Huntsville.
