Marianne Nurre is responsible for the implementation of best practices for compliance with applicable accounting standards and financial regulations governing federal contractors and non-profit organizations. Additionally, she supports the operating divisions with financial analyses and strategic planning. Nurre has over 30 years in public corporate accounting and finance with the majority of her career focused in the life sciences and pharmaceutical industries.
Prior to joining Southern Research, she served as controller for Evonik Corporation’s Birmingham Laboratories business, a pharmaceutical development and manufacturing branch of the specialized chemical company. Before the Evonik purchase, the site was owned by SurModics Pharmaceuticals where Nurre was director of finance and controller, treasurer and assistant secretary.
Her pharmaceutical background also includes finance leadership roles at Nektar Therapeutics in Huntsville, Alabama, in the Albuquerque, New Mexico manufacturing and development site for Cardinal Health, SP Pharmaceuticals, Pharmacia & Upjohn, and Adria Laboratories. Ron Drewery, CPA and Touche Ross comprise her public accounting experience.
Nurre received a Bachelor of Science in business administration in accounting from Xavier University in Cincinnati and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dayton. She is also a licensed certified public accountant, chartered global management accountant, and she is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and National Contracts Management Association.
