Scientific Platforms

Our team drives discoveries that reduce suffering and save lives. Over our 80-year history, our teams have worked every day to discover treatments and cures for diseases like cancer, Parkinson’s, COVID-19, Malaria and emerging infectious diseases. Some recent accomplishments include:

  • Southern Research developed seven FDA-approved cancer-fighting drugs, and we currently have three new cancer drugs in development.
  • At the start of the coronavirus pandemic, our High Throughput Screening Center sifted through tens of thousands of drugs to identify potential treatments, and our scientists helped refine the first approved treatment for COVID-19.
