Andrew Fitzgerald

Andrew Fitzgerald earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2014, and his Master’s of Science in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University in 2016. Pursuit of both degrees focused on behavioral neuroscience and biological psychopathology. After receiving his Master’s, he began a position as Research Technologist with Dr. Irina Topchiy in the Biobehavioral Health Science Department of the College of Nursing at the University of Illinois at Chicago, focusing on an interdisciplinary neuroscience approach to a chronic rodent model of sleep apnea. He enthusiastically joined the Nakazawa lab in 2019, with hopes of contributing to the progression toward enhanced quality of life for those who suffer from serious psychiatric illnesses through drug discovery.
