Lutfiya Miller, Ph.D., is a board-certified toxicologist (D.A.B.T.) who serves as a study director for Developmental and Reproductive Toxicology (DART) and general toxicology studies at Southern Research.
Since joining Southern Research in 2014, Miller has served as study director for a number of GLP-compliant DART studies performed at SR, evaluating the effects of various test articles on developmental toxicity initiated by in utero exposure to these agents (embryo-fetal developmental toxicity studies), as well as on postnatal development (modified on generation studies and perinatal studies). She has also served as study director on several general toxicology studies in both rodent and non-rodent species, and she has validated and implemented the neurobehavioral suite of capabilities within the Toxicology group, serving to evaluate neurotoxicity in adult and juvenile animals.
Dr. Miller received her Bachelor of Science in biomedical sciences at Brock University, and she completed her doctorate at the University of Toronto, specializing in pharmacology and developmental toxicology. She has published 11 peer-reviewed journal articles, two book chapters, 27 abstracts, presented research at 15 conferences, and has 14 research-related awards. Her professional affiliations include: associate member and program committee member of the American College of Toxicology; associate member of the Society of Toxicology; and member and publications committee member of the Teratology Society.
