April Joice, Ph.D., PMP

Vice President of Operations

Dr. Joice joined Southern Research in 2024 with more than a decade of experience across academia, contract research, and the pharmaceutical industry. In her role as VP of Operations, Dr. Joice works closely with the COO to lead SR’s preclinical drug discovery and development operations.  Her scientific career has stretched from early-stage drug discovery through development. Dr. Joice recently held positions at MBX Biosciences, AmplifyBio, and The Battelle Memorial Institute.

Dr. Joice earned her B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Georgia and her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Clemson University. She also held Postdoctoral positions in Medicinal Chemistry Divisions at both The Ohio State University and the University of Utah.
