Hands-on activity & small-scale demonstration. Through a series of hands-on experiments, students investigate the characteristics of static electricity. They then explore how static electricity is generated through a demonstration using a Van de Graaff generator.

Small-scale demonstration. Using a homemade pH indicator, students generate hypotheses and examine the acidic and basic properties of a variety of household items. This provides the conceptual framework for students to then participate in an inquiry-driven activity exploring ocean acidification.

Get ready for an unforgettable STEM experience packed with fire, explosions, and ultra-cold science! In the first half of the show, students explore the fundamentals of chemical reactions through exciting demonstrations of exothermic and combustion reactions. They’ll discover the science behind the “BOOM” as we break down the three essential ingredients of fire—heat, fuel, and oxygen—and explore how energy is transformed during chemical reactions. In the second half, we’ll investigate the fascinating properties of liquid nitrogen and its dramatic effects on the phases of matter through a series of interactive demonstrations. We’ll wrap up the show with an explosive finale that’s sure to spark curiosity and leave students inspired to explore the world of science!

This large-scale show is designed for audiences of 50 to 500 or more people. For school audiences, the show must be held in a gymnasium, auditorium, or cafeteria and cannot be performed in a classroom.
